Dragados Canada, Inc., the Canadian construction arm of the ACS Group (one of the world’s largest international construction and engineering companies), is seeking a talented and experienced Senior Scheduler to join its dynamic and energetic team.

Dragados Canada was established in 2008 and has grown steadily into an industry-leader in Canada, with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal, successfully performing a variety of large-scale transportation, bridge, dam, tunnel, and other major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a project works schedule as part of the technical submission and the Project Execution Plan (PEP) for the project execution
  • Plan and organize the setup of project baseline and implement a plan to track against the baseline on a regular basis
  • Develop cost, schedule, and commercial baseline
  • Provide technical and administrative direction, coordination, evaluation, training, and coaching
  • Analyze variances in cost and schedule performance against the plan and communicate the reasons for the issuance of variance and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management
  • Supervise the implementation of Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures for control and integrity of work to be performed as defined by the contract
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management
  • PSP (Planning and Scheduling Professional) and/or PMP (Project Management Professional) would be considered an asset
  • 5-10 years of relevant experience in project controls, project analyst experience demonstrating increasing levels of responsibility in terms of project size and sophistication, preferably in rail/infrastructure
  • Experience as a Planning and Scheduling Lead for a medium- to large-sized project
  • Experience in heavy civil or general engineering construction is required
  • Experience with advanced scheduling principles using Primavera 6 (P6), MS Project or other related system applications is required
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings
  • Ability to handle large project schedules with multiple activities and integrate to or from other owner or joint venture partner schedules
  • Advance knowledge in scheduling software is required, including P6 scheduling software, Microsoft Project, Primavera Risk Analysis (or similar)
  • 3D and 4D modelling experience will be considered an asset
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word
  • French will be considered an asset 
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders
