This position may be scheduled at any of the following sites: Charlton Campus (Hamilton Downtown) Application Dates Opening Date: 06/01/2026 Closing Date: 13/01/2026 Applications must be received online by 12:00 midnight on the Closing Date Position Description Position Summary: A Physiotherapist is a health care professional who attempts to prevent or alleviate functional problems arising from physical, psychological and/or social origins. Prevention and treatment of an impairment, disability or handicap is accomplished through the use of physical assessment, education and treatment which are based on ongoing clinical research. The goal of physiotherapy intervention is to promote quality of life, self-responsibility and independence. Physiotherapists at SJHH play a major role in patient’s length of stay. As one of the few professionals who usually remains constant during a patient’s stay, PT’s promote early discharge planning, optimize patient mobility and function and ensure patients are safe to return home. The PT supports his/her profession by advocating for or contributing themselves to an environment where ongoing learning, evidence-based practice, quality improvement and research are practiced and supported.
