OverviewOxford Learning Brampton Ebenezer is currently seeking part-time teacher-tutors for elementary or high school students for a role in our learning centre. This position is perfect for anyone who loves working with students, enjoys numbers and equations, and is passionate about helping others build their skills in these areas.Tutor-teachers at Oxford Learning do not have to lesson plan before class, as all lessons are pre-planned. Applicants will be fully trained in our proprietary philosophy and methods.Position DetailsAll Teacher-Tutors work during after-school and evening hours Mon/Wed and/or Tue/Thu (4:00pm - 8:00pm). A commitment until the end of the term in June is preferred. Continuing through the summer is even better. Your students will love working with you, and being reliable is a must. This role is in-person. You must be able to commute to this location. Relocation packages are not available. Candidates will be required to complete an English and Mathematics assessment, must be eligible to work in Canada, and will need to provide a clear police record check with vulnerable sector screening if selected for the position.EducationBachelor’s degree or similar certification in a relevant fieldFourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be consideredTeaching certification an assetGood knowledge of the current Grades 1-12 math curriculum, particularly senior math including, but not limited to, advanced functions, algebra, trigonometry, calculus, and vectorsExperienceSome experience teaching/tutoring math at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) levelStrong English written and oral communication skillsStrong math skills and ability to guide students’ understandingAbility to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a timeResponsibilities (Position Details)Teaching up to 3 students at a time at different levelsTeaching online and in-personFollowing the Oxford Learning methodologies and philosophiesFilling in post-lesson notesCompleting daily student communication updatesMaintaining a friendly and professional manner at all timesRewardsFun staff eventsOngoing training opportunitiesFrequent check-ins and feedbackCompany growth opportunitiesHands-on development of your teaching skillsJob Type: Part-timeSalary Range: $17.20 - $19 / hourScheduleEveningsMonday to FridaySaturday availabilityAbout Oxford LearningOxford Learning is a Canadian supplemental education provider helping students get better grades since 1984.
