Real Estate Operations & Finance ManagerWe are a unique private equity firm with a different approach. We utilize its success in operating companies to view private equity opportunities through an entrepreneur’s lens.We are seeking a Real Estate Operations & Finance Manager to join the Accounting and Finance team, based in Toronto. Reporting to the Director, Real Estate Portfolio, this position will be responsible for financial reporting analyses, budgeting & forecasting, financial reporting, and support management in making decisions for their businesses.RoleThe successful candidate will be an open-minded, flexible, energetic, hands-on finance professional who will leverage their strong accounting background while working in a progressive environment that offers continuous learning opportunities and a competitive compensation package. The team you'll join and help develop has a strong work ethic and is collaborative and supportive.Key AccountabilitiesCollaborate with the Director to develop and drive the Finance and Real Estate strategy.Coach and develop team members supporting the Real Estate portfolio.Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end activities related to legal entity reporting.Plan, direct, and coordinate all accounting operational functions.Manage the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results.Complete weekly/monthly financial roll-ups and monthly financial packages.Support the Staff Accountant and other accounting team members.Lead Profit & Loss reporting, tax responsibilities, and lease administration.Serve as a Yardi power user to manage property accounting and related functions.Act as a liaison for external partnerships’ finance bridges.Coordinate activities of external auditors and manage communication with external auditors.Prepare Board meeting financial packages.Provide management with information vital to the decision‑making process.Assess current accounting operations, offer recommendations for improvement, and implement new processes.Evaluate accounting and internal control systems.Develop and monitor business performance metrics.Hire, train, and retain skilled accounting staff.Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.Qualifications and RequirementsMinimum of 8 years’ experience working in Finance/Accounting.A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, or Mathematics and a CPA designation or equivalent.Direct experience working in the real estate industry, with an understanding of real estate transactions, property management, and/or development accounting practices.Strong financial analysis skills with the ability to undertake research and translate complex information into useful insights.Prior experience implementing procedures and tools for consolidated financial reporting is ideal.Keen attention to detail and highly accurate work.Strong leadership and motivational skills to mentor and support the team.Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and strong mathematical, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.A self‑starter who can multitask in an efficient and controlled manner with competing priorities and tight deadlines.Team Player – Possesses good interpersonal skills with ability to work well with others.Seniority levelMid‑Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionAccounting/Auditing and FinanceReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at HR Solutions by 2x #J-18808-Ljbffr
