New Business Specialist - 12 Month Contract Join Canada Life as a New Business Specialist on a 12‑month contract. This temporary full‑time role places you at the heart of our MGA operations, helping advisors grow their business and deliver life insurance solutions. Job Summary Financial Horizons, a leading MGA serving over 6,500 independent advisors, has been acquired by Canada Life. The New Business Specialist manages end‑to‑end case processing for new life‑insurance applications, ensuring compliance with underwriting requirements and maintaining timely communication with carriers and advisors. Responsibilities Provide case management to assigned advisors ensuring SLAs are met. Critically review submitted applications, communicate with advisors for missing or incomplete information, and proactively address potential issues to promote an efficient new‑business process. Order all medical requirements depending on the circumstances of the case. Regularly and timely follow up regarding pending business cases. Maintain regular communication between carriers and advisors throughout the underwriting process to completion. Work extensively with back‑office systems, WealthServ, as well as insurance carrier websites. Update and maintain WealthServ system with current information at all times. Responsible for maintaining an organized filing system for easy referral and retrieval. Qualifications Completion of post‑secondary education or equivalent. Minimum of 1 year experience in the insurance or financial services industry (asset). Proven experience in Microsoft Office applications. Knowledge of WealthServ (asset). Excellent organizational and time‑management skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including internal and external communication. Customer service mindset. Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to work in an ever‑changing environment. Base salary: $43,400 – $65,100 annually (base only; variable compensation may apply).
