Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $120,000.00/yr Direct message the job poster from Accounting Advantage National Credit & Collections Manager – Construction/Service Industry Scarborough, ON | Full-Time | Hybrid (4 days a week in office) $100 - 120K Our client is seeking an experienced Credit & Collections Manager to lead national receivables operations for a large, well-established organization in the construction and service sector. This role is ideal for a proven leader who thrives in a fast-paced, contract-driven environment and understands the complexities of progress billing, holdbacks, and milestone payments. As a key member of the finance leadership team, you’ll oversee a dedicated collections group, optimize cash flow, and strengthen credit risk management across Canada. What You’ll Do Lead national credit and collections operations across service and new construction portfolios Monitor aging reports and drive strategies to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) Perform credit risk assessments and guide credit approval decisions Review and authorize credit notes and bad debt write-offs per policy Interpret and enforce contract terms including milestone billing, progress payments, holdbacks, and change orders Partner with legal, project management, and operations teams to resolve disputes and ensure compliance with contract terms Maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure timely collections and proactive communication Oversee accurate documentation and audit readiness for all receivables activities Develop and enhance processes, systems, and reporting tools to improve performance and transparency Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 8+ credit and collections professionals Provide regular updates on collection metrics, risk accounts, and portfolio performance to senior leadership What You Bring Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration 10+ years of experience in credit and collections, including 5+ years in management Deep understanding of construction or service-based contracts, including retention/holdback, lien waivers, and progress billing Strong analytical, negotiation, and leadership skills Proficiency with ERP and AR management systems (e.g., GetPaid, Oracle, Salesforce, Excel, BI tools) Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Highly organized, process-driven, and committed to continuous improvement Preferred Background Experience in construction, or service-based industries Familiarity with lien laws and Canadian construction billing practices Disclaimer This is currently for an active job opportunity.
