Our hope is that by cultivating relationships with caring adults who will mentor and cheer them on, our young people will be able to bring about positive change to our city – both now and in the future.We do this through grassroots programming, a focus on wholistic transformation, and a network of local partnerships including after-school programs, sports programs, summer camps, and more.To learn more visit www.yugta.caThe Oshawa Community Worker will build relationships with youth by pioneering new, grassroots programming in the Oshawa area as part of our commitment to launch neighbourhood-based outreach programs in under-served communities.This programming would creatively respond to needs and opportunities in Oshawa and could include sports, arts, after school homework help, etcKey Responsibilities :Build mentoring relationships with local youthPioneer and lead new ministry initiatives for children, youth, and young adultsAssist with recruitment and management of volunteersOversee ongoing administrative tasks such as attendance, registration forms, lesson preparation, program budgeting, and ministry updatesRequirements :Pursue a vital spiritual life and growing relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus ChristBe a faithful and contributing member of a local churchA deep commitment to a holistic approach to proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and God’s KingdomAble to engage youth relationallyExperience working with youth and / or childrenPosition InformationWe have opportunities for a part-time (beginning at 17 hours / week) or full-time position with this role. Thesalaryfor this position is determined on ascalebased on education and experience, ranging from $55,960 to $61,470 for a full timesalary(44 hours / week), and is funded 100% on a missionary basis, requiring the gathering of a personal support team.To Apply : Please submit a resumé and cover letter below.
