Responsibilities Provides electrical/mechanical support to all departments within the facility Assist in the installation of any new equipment in the facility Understand and practice proactive maintenance and contribute in correcting problems before they become downtime issue Ensure equipment is operating, designed and installed to required GMP standards Trouble shoot any mechanical or electrical breakdown in the production process to ensure minimal loss in manufacturing of our products Prevent premature breakdown of the equipment used in production and operate the facility through continual preventative maintenance Ensure a safe work environment through effective maintenance of equipment. Ensure the facility meets all required electrical codes Ensure that all employees are aware of their responsibilities specific to food safety, legality and quality Understands the electrical systems of our facilities processing and packaging equipment and is able to maintain it Use SAP system for work capture, parts, sign out, parts look up, confirming time Proper housekeeping. Clean up after work completed Provide accurate shift reports detailing parts used, downtime and Root cause analyses Take part as an active member of continuous improvement teams Work together with all other departments to ensure a productive team environment and the continuous improvement of the plant processes Report any concerns and/or problems to supervisor through daily written and verbal reporting Assist in the ordering of electrical components and maintaining the inventory of critical electrical parts Adhere to all applicable job procedures as outlined in SOP manual Adhere to GMP’s and Health and safety rules as outlined in employee handbook Keep work area clean and clear of hazards Report any unsafe conditions, incidents or injuries to Supervisor immediately Use all prescribed personal protective equipment Adhere to food safety practices and ensure they are being followed All tools to be cleaned and maintained in good repair. Report any broken, damaged, or missing tools to your supervisor. Do not discard any damaged or broken tools. Follow all GMPs including maintaining personal hygiene, handwashing/sanitizing hands, clean up spills (i.e.: ingredients, water, debris and wood) Report any foreign material findings to your supervisor As part of food security, report any unusual people or behaviours to your supervisor Perform all other duties as assigned Skills, Experience & Qualifications Certificate in Programmable Logic Control an asset Good mechanical aptitude and dexterity - detail oriented Service oriented - wants to please the customer Performance oriented - wants it fixed right High sense of urgency - wants it fixed now High sense of ownership Effective communicator - must discuss potential problems effectively Good organizational skills Has to have good analytical skills - finds a solution quickly Tenacious - does not give up Knowledge of PLC's (AB/Siemens) Programming, data collection and troubleshooting of PLC's Education, Technical Qualifications, Experience and Competencies Proficiency Level Required Must hold a valid license, or proof of license from any province Preferred Certificate of Qualification from the Ministry of Education, Ontario, Industrial Electrician 442A or Construction and Maintenance Electrician 309A Certificate in Programmable Logic Control Physical Requirements The majority of work in the bakery requires employees to stand on their feet for the entire 8-12 hour shift Physical demands may also include reaching, bending, walking, lifting (up to a maximum of 50lbs) and performing repetitive actions Please refer to the PDA for all physical requirements of this position Pay Rate: $34.89 per hour We thank each applicant for taking the time and effort to submit your resume, however, only candidates to be interviewed will be contacted.
