Working in partnership with the City of Welland, the WDBIA advocates for local businesses, coordinates events and beautification projects, and promotes downtown as a destination to shop, dine, invest, and experience. As Downtown Welland continues to evolve through new development, waterfront revitalization, and community events, the WDBIA plays a key role in shaping its identity and growth.Position OverviewThe Executive Director (ED) is responsible for leading the operations, administration, and strategic initiatives of the Downtown Welland BIA. Reporting to the Board of Management, the Executive Director provides leadership in organizational management, stakeholder engagement, communications, and community development. ED must be present locally to engage with members and other stakeholders in person. The successful candidate will be a motivated, community-focused leader who thrives on community development, collaboration, creativity, and results.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & AdministrationImplement the strategic direction and priorities established by the WDBIA Board of Management.Manage day-to-day operations, budgeting, reporting, and correspondence.Support Board meetings by preparing agendas, reports, and recommendations.Supervise staff, contractors, and volunteers as needed.Community & Stakeholder RelationsServe as the main point of contact for WDBIA members, local businesses, and property owners.Build and maintain relationships with the City of Welland, Niagara Region, community groups, and local media.Advocate for downtown interests in matters related to municipal planning, infrastructure, and economic development.Marketing & EventsDevelop and implement marketing campaigns that promote downtown businesses and events.Coordinate community events, activations, and seasonal programming that drives downtown traffic and engagement.Oversee website updates, newsletters, and social media communications.\Beautification & PlacemakingCollaborate with City staff and contractors on improvements to streetscapes and public spaces.Oversee financial operations including budgeting, invoicing, and audits.Seek out and apply for grants, sponsorships, and partnership funding opportunities.QualificationsPost‑secondary education or equivalent experience in business administration, marketing, public relations, urban planning, or a related field.Minimum 3–5 years of experience in leadership, nonprofit management, community development, or small business support.Proficient knowledge of nonprofit governance.Demonstrated experience in marketing, communications, and event coordination.Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.Proficiency with Google Drive, QuickBooks, Microsoft Office, and social media management tools.Knowledge of municipal processes, economic development, and downtown revitalization practices is an asset.A valid Ontario driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.Working ConditionsFull‑time position (35 hours per week) with flexibility for occasional evening or weekend work related to events or meetings.Combination of office‑based and field work within Downtown Welland.How to ApplyPlease submit your resume and cover letter outlining your relevant experience and interest in the position to the contact listed below.We thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.Contact: [Insert Contact Email/Link] #J-18808-Ljbffr
