Physician Lead at Opioid Agonist Therapy Clinic The Physician Leadership position at the Opioid Agonist Therapy Clinic in Regina is a key leader in Saskatchewan health care, partnering with system leaders to achieve our province’s health care goals. Reporting to the Area Chief of Staff - Regina and supporting the work of the respective Physician Executive/Vice-President and Executive Director of Mental Health and Addiction IUH, this position works closely with health system colleagues in the development and achievement of strategic goals. The Physician Lead will demonstrate strong leadership to enable and promote an innovative and positive working climate and a patient centered culture. The Physician Lead must work cross functionally within the Mental Health and Addictions portfolio and across other parts of the organization. The primary purpose of this 1-year term leadership role is to: Collaborate with other physician providers and plan for physician session schedules for clinical services at the OAT Clinic. Ensure physician clinical standards and processes are developed, documented and incorporated into daily work. Coordinate with MHA leadership to ensure appropriate, evidence based opioid agonist therapy services are provided that follow Saskatchewan guidelines and standards for practice. Ensure patient care and transitions of care flow processes are developed and documented. Provide education to physicians and other allied health professionals who share the care responsibilities of the population served. Support strategic development and execution of operational and business plans, including cascading, monitoring, reporting, and course correction of same. Participate in quality improvement work. Job Qualifications Licensed medical practitioner in good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan (CPSS). Addiction Medicine expertise and qualified to provide opioid agonist therapy. Canadian Certified Physician Executive Credential would be an asset. Advanced education in Health Care Administration, Public Administration and/or Leadership Studies would be an asset. Participation in the Canadian Medical Association’s Physician Leadership Institute would be an asset. Additional training and/or education in leadership/management would be an asset. Experience, at an operational level, as a medical leader who has developed and led innovative planning and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment. Has knowledge of and experience in guiding health quality improvement processes and initiatives. Has experience working in dyadic leadership roles and relationships. Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
