Project Controls/Contract Specialist – PL#90378 Peter Lucas Project Management invests in people, community, and cutting-edge technology to provide gold standard project delivery. We are seeking a Project Controls / Contracts Specialist to support our clients' Underground Department. This position will be responsible for directly managing a unit rate contract for the primary underground development and production contractor. Base Pay Range CA$90,000.00/yr - CA$130,000.00/yr Key Responsibilities Oversee and administer the unit rate contract for underground development and production. Monitor contractor performance and compliance with contract terms and scope. Review and defend against contractor claims, leveraging hands‑on underground experience. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of costs, quantities, and productivity. Collaborate closely with the Underground Department and site leadership to provide consistent project controls and contractual oversight. Maintain a thorough understanding of all contract terms, deliverables, and obligations. Work Location & Schedule Preferred: Local candidate able to work on a 5x2 or 5x2/4x3 schedule for consistent on‑site support. Camp accommodations provided. Requirements Minimum 5-10 years of relevant experience in project controls, contracts administration, or cost management within underground mining operations. Strong working knowledge of unit rate contracts and cost control methodologies. Proven ability to interpret and apply contract terms, defend claims, and hold contractors accountable using factual data. Underground experience in a mining setting. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Proficient in project controls systems, data analysis, and reporting tools. Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
