The careers we offer are meaningful because the work we do matters.Join us Job Summary Reporting to the Category Manager, the Senior Procurement Specialist is responsible for conducting all procurement activities necessary to deliver value on their category. This role is a permanent position as part of the category Engineering Design & Construction / Bridges & Structure team. Main Responsibilities Procurement Management Interact with internal stakeholders, understand their needs and promote value creation Conduct data analytics during different stages of the sourcing process Develop category strategy and supplier market knowledge Build and manage Request for Proposals, evaluate supplier responses and prepare business cases to submit for management approval Negotiate contracts with suppliers (commercial & legal clauses) Manage contracts, supplier relationships and supplier performance. Work with Buyers to ensure all rates and agreements are appropriately administered in the Purchase to Pay (P2P) process (i.e. SAP, Ariba, Fieldglass etc.) Ensure that all internal requirements in terms of compliance to procurement policy are met and addressed Participate and support department wide projects when required Working Conditions The role has standard working conditions in an office environment with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. The role requires minimal (20%) travel (infrequent and short trips). The position works from home on Wednesday and Friday, and in the office on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Office is based in Montreal. Requirements Experience Between 2 to 3 years of experience in a similar role (Procurement Specialist) Between 4 to 5 years experience in a similar role (Senior Procurement Specialist) Education/Certification/Designation Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or Law or equivalent Competencies Continuously displays a customer centric attitude in order to improve the customer’s journey Inspires others with impactful communications and adapts to the audience Collaborates with key internal stakeholders to enable higher productivity Negotiations (Negotiates towards a win‑win outcome while taking all points of view into consideration) Applies analytical thinking to make recommendations that pursue sustainable performance Project management Deals with pressure and change by staying calm to quickly adapt to changes Technical Skills/Knowledge Ability to read and understand contract documents Ability to drive innovative analysis to understand the market trends, cost drivers, suppliers and best practices Strong technical skills related to data tools & presentation of data Understand strategic sourcing best practices Understand P2P Understand contract structure, terms and conditions and supplier performance principles Basic understanding of Incoterms, Customs and documentation required for international imports.
