Become part of our global network of skilled engineers, scientists, auditors, planners, and environmental specialists, all working together to leave this world better than we found it.Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will involve the following responsibilities.ResponsibilitiesPreparation of civil drawings and details from conception to final design in a 3D modelling environment such as Civil 3D, following established standards and procedures for sites including linear utility modelling, site grading and site servicing plan modelling/design, road and rail corridor design and modelling, and transit stations.Drive design phases and implement design standards on rail, transit, and linear infrastructure projects of high complexity.Review and prepare models and drawings; collaborate with Engineers to develop detailed drawings, quantities, and supporting documentation.Work within procurement strategies such as Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build to advance civil design packages.Mentor and supervise junior staff and developing Technicians.Follow BIM Execution Plan and BIM project requirements throughout the project lifecycle; provide support and training on Civil 3D and BIM standards.Adhere to GHD BIM standards and implement project-level compliance; contribute input into BIM scope, schedule, and budget when required.Perform quantity take-offs; produce consistent, high-quality civil deliverables.Communicate regularly with civil leads, designers, and project team members to ensure timely flow of information and meeting deadlines.Participate in the advancement of GHD Standard Civil/Transportation Details and BIM Standards; mentor on updates, assist with training development, and lessons learned exercises.What you will bring to the teamTechnician/Technologist with Civil Engineering Technology diploma is an asset.8 to 10 years of civil design, drafting, and modelling experience (mandatory).Proven experience in site grading, site servicing, drainage, and access road design using Civil 3D; ability to prepare plans, sections, profiles, and detail drawings (mandatory).Extensive experience with corridor and pipe network modules in Civil 3D.Strong 3D model development, design completion, general arrangement drawing production, redlining, annotation, and drafting.High attention to detail, problem-solving and organizational skills.Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D is mandatory; knowledge of Bentley software (MicroStation, OpenRoads) and other tools (Navisworks, Dynamo, REVIT) is an asset.Experience with Metrolinx and rail corridor modelling design is an asset.Ability to work in a multidisciplinary environment and collaborate with team members from other disciplines.Experience with QA/QC of models and drawings for standards compliance and discipline coordination.Good understanding of effort required to complete work; positive attitude and strong communication skills.Competency with BIM collaboration tools (e.g., ProjectWise, BIM 360) is mandatory.Strong communication skills for team-based work and for teaching project teams standard BIM/CAD methodologies.Ability to interact with external entities to understand BIM/CAD requirements and scope.Ability to manage multiple parallel projects in a team setting and meet tight deadlines.As a diverse and inclusive organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
