Join our team of globally connected specialists to help solve complex transport challenges and experience groundbreaking projects from idea to delivery, and beyond.ResponsibilitiesNeeds Assessment: Uncover emerging issues or needs, identifying potential causes, barriers, and key stakeholders, as well as related issues.Improvement/Innovation: Identify shortcomings in existing business practices, then suggest and implement improvements while developing and delivering projects or a work stream within the organization\'s change management program. Involves working with guidance from senior colleagues.Culture of Innovation: Drive a culture of innovation by creating multistakeholder solutions that boost creativity, innovation, and collaboration across business units, such as idea generation platforms, jam sessions, and hackathons.Engineering Solutions Design: Lead and develop civil engineering design for track grading, roadway, and multi-modal corridors including median LRT/BRT as well as site development and associated linear infrastructure.Coordination: Coordinate the preparation of civil deliverables, drawings and details from conception to final design in a 3D modelling environment such as Civil 3D, according to established standards and procedures for a wide variety of projects. Coordinate all aspects of the civil design including being responsible for the design following the budget and schedule.Professional Supervision: Lead a small team of engineers and/or designers to drive design phases and implement design standards on civil infrastructure projects of high complexity. Mentor and supervise junior staff, developing EITs and Technicians, fostering a team approach.Engineering Standards Specification: Review and oversee the preparation of models and drawings and work with other Engineers and Designers to develop detailed drawings, quantities and various supporting documents including technical memos, specifications, contract documents, etc. Complete assignments with minimal guidance.Collaboration: Work closely with Business Group Leaders, Project Managers, and Project Directors with a focus on civil design for transit infrastructure. Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and design staff to produce high-quality project deliverables. Maintain contact with sub-consultants, municipalities, utility companies and clients. Communicate with discipline leads and project team members to ensure timely flow of information and delivery within program and budget constraints.Engineering Standards Specification: Analyze information, draft engineering standards and specifications, and evaluate their effectiveness within the discipline to ensure work meets required quality.Knowledge Management: Develop policies and processes, create best practices, set up case studies, and deliver knowledge-sharing sessions to capture and share project outcomes and innovative practices.Document and Reports Review: Oversee the preparation of reports and contract documents for review agencies, clients, and the public.Working in various procurement environments such as Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build projects.Standards: Adhere to GHD BIM and Quality standards and procedures and implement compliance at the project level.Participation in advancement of GHD Standard Civil Details, including promotion of changes and updates to tools and methods, and assist with training development and lessons learned.EducationPost-secondary degree in Civil EngineeringOntario P.Eng designation required (or eligible) (Mandatory)ExperienceGeneral Experience: 15+ years of experience in design and engineering of transportation infrastructure projectsManagerial Experience: Supervising and directing people and resources within limited timeframes (approximately 13 months to 3 years)Proven record of successful delivery of Transit Infrastructure projectsDetailed understanding of local Agency (or equivalent) Codes and standardsExperience working in an integrated 3D design environmentProficiency with design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or MicroStationCompetency/expertise in BIM Collaboration tools (e.g., ProjectWise, BIM 360, Autodesk Construction Cloud) (Preferred but not required)As a diverse and inclusive organization, we encourage individual achievement and recognize the strength of a diverse workforce.
