You can use your initiative, creativity, and skill to help take our established organic health food brand to the next level.The OpportunityWe are seeking an experienced Production Lead to lead our food production operations and drive excellence across all aspects of the department. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you will serve as the key operational leader, responsible for overseeing the production team, optimizing processes, and ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.This hands-on role requires a strategic thinker who can balance day-to-day operational demands with long-term continuous improvement initiatives. You will be instrumental in maintaining our commitment to GMP compliance, food safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer experiences through operational excellence.About the RoleProduction Operations & QualityDrive safety, quality, productivity, inventory accuracy and service improvements within the departmentEnsure production lines and machines are organized, prepared, cleaned, setup, and maintained to Health and Safety standards, ensuring only quality products are packagedPerform preventative maintenance on production equipment as requiredMonitor the work environment to ensure compliance with GMPs, Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP, and all company policies and proceduresEnsure corrective and preventative actions are carried out regarding non-conformances, process deviations and complaintsInventory & PlanningKeeps stock control systems up to date and plans for future capacity requirementsManages the accuracy of finished goods and raw materials inventory through solid cycle counting processes and proceduresParticipate and help with annual physical inventory countsPrint and prepare all work orders and production labels via Sage (ERP)Report daily production output and material usage into Sage (ERP)Team Leadership & DevelopmentHold daily meetings to review KPIs, provide update, allocate new priorities, and listen to employee feedbackOversee employee performance, provide guidance, support, and identify development needsProvide training to warehouse staff on operational procedures and warehouse management systems to ensure optimal efficiency and strict compliance with GMP standardsOversee production team, providing support, mentorship, as well as tracking and approving timesheets, vacation, sick leave and daily schedules in RipplingCollaborate with the Plant Manager to determine staffing levels and assign workloadsCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate with cross-functional departments to ensure seamless continuity between production, sales, supply chain, customer support, fulfillment, and other departments as neededAttend regular production meetings and share opportunities, potential risks, and production numbers with cross-functional teamsWho you AreEducation & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in business, operations management, industrial engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience)Minimum 5 years of experience in production or manufacturing management, preferably in a food manufacturing or GMP-regulated environmentProven track record of leading teams and driving operational improvementsTechnical SkillsStrong knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) HACCP, and food safety regulationsExperience with warehouse management systems and inventory control software (ERP) such as SageProficiency in production planning, scheduling, and capacity managementUnderstanding of lead manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience with HRIS tools such as Rippling for time trackingLeadership & Interpersonal SkillsExceptional leadership and people management abilities with a focus on team development and engagementStrong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across all levels of the organizationProven problem-solving and decision-making capabilitiesAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentResults-oriented mindset with strong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAdditional RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing plantCommitment to maintaining a safe work environment and adherence to all safety protocolsWhy Work With Us$55,000.00 - $75,000.00/year base salary*Comprehensive Health Benefits - We've got you and your family covered for medical, paramedical, dental & vision benefits, and beyondFlex Paid Time Off - Plenty of paid time off (including a day reserved for your birthday) and an annual week-long company holidayProfessional Development Opportunities - Annual budget allocated to developing new skills, and increasing your potential and impactOT Products - Annual credit to stock up on your go-to's and discover new favourites*This is the anticipated salary range for this position.
