Key Responsibilities

• Participate and oversee the development of design concept direction through implementation into subsequent production and construction stages.
• Communicate closely with the senior leadership to implement the team vision while working independently on a day-to-day basis.
• Develop modern design concepts, graphics and presentation materials as required.
• Implement technical design and drawing production while keeping current in global design trends and issues.
• Collaborate with other design disciplines within the Toronto studio as well as other B+H studios globally.
• Provide mentoring to promote succession for junior and intermediate team members.

Skills and knowledge:

• Proficiency in CAD drafting.
• Proficiency in presentation graphics software, including Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in 3-D modeling programs such as Sketch Up and Rhino.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong graphic communication skills
• Experience with grading, construction materials and detailing

Position Requirements

• University degree in Landscape Architecture, preferably at the graduate level.
• Licensed Landscape Architect in Ontario (or eligible for registration).
• 8-12 years of experience in the professional field, including project management experience with international design practice.
• Strong design conceptualization skills and graphic production skills including 2D and 3D computer rendering.
• Proficiency in presentation graphics software, including Photoshop, and Illustrator.
• Proficiency in drafting using Revit or AutoCAD.
• Strong conceptual design knowledge, with strong graphic communication skills including development of hand sketches.
• Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with a geographically and ethnically diverse team.
• Strong and positive leadership and interpersonal qualities.
• Working knowledge of local construction industry and plant materials.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure.
• Detail oriented, efficient, adaptable to changing deadlines and priorities, and work well collaboratively.
• Evidence of a genuine passion for landscape architecture, public spaces and the natural environment.
