The Evergreen Brick Works site, where our head office is located, is built on the sovereign territory and waterways of the Haudenosaunee, Wendat, and Anishinaabe Nations. These nations continue to be the original governments, continuing leaders and decision makers that govern these lands. The territory is governed by Treaty 13 signed by the Mississaugas of the Credit. Key Accountabilities A day‑in‑the‑life of this role might include: Major Gifts Strategy & Revenue Manage a portfolio of up to 150 major gift prospects and donors, with a focus on gifts of $10,000+, across individuals, corporations, and private foundations. Act as key relationship manager for assigned donors, working with senior leadership and program staff to support effective management strategies. Identify, cultivate, solicit, close, and steward five‑ and six‑figure major gifts and multi‑year pledges to meet annual and multi‑year revenue targets. Build and maintain a robust major gifts pipeline through all stages of the donor cycle. Contribute to the development and execution of a major gifts strategy aligned with organizational priorities. Set and manage individual fundraising targets in alignment with departmental goals, in collaboration with the Director of Philanthropy. Donor Engagement & Stewardship Develop and deliver personalized cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies, including meaningful donor engagement opportunities such as on‑site events and donor tours. Collaborate with marketing and communications to support donor recognition. Represent Evergreen at events and meetings to strengthen donor relationships and increase awareness of Evergreen’s mission and programs. Lead the development of proposals, gift agreements, and impact reports, collaborating with program, finance, and communications teams as required. Oversee stewardship and recognition opportunities that reflect donor intent and Evergreen’s values. Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date donor records, prospect strategies, activity reports, and other tracking protocols in the CRM to support data‑driven decision‑making and forecasting. Monitor performance against goals and provide regular reports and insights to leadership. Organizational & Strategic Contributions Collaborate across the Development team and broader organization to align fundraising efforts with program goals. Analyze trends in major gifts fundraising and recommend opportunities for growth and innovation. Embed a values‑based, anti‑oppressive and community‑centric fundraising approach to work. Inform program design by sharing donor insights while ensuring fundraising strategies align with community needs and organizational values. Contribute to targets that support both Brick Works projects and national projects, such as Climate Ready Schools and Loop Trail. What You’ll Bring Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as fundraising, public relations, marketing or equivalent professional experience. 5+ years of progressive experience in major gifts fundraising, with demonstrated success closing five‑ and six‑figure gifts. Proven ability to manage a donor portfolio using moves management best practices. Experience developing and executing major gifts strategies and working with senior leaders and volunteers in donor engagement. Exceptional relationship‑building and communication skills, with confidence engaging high‑net‑worth individuals and senior stakeholders. Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently. Excellent written communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive donor‑facing materials. Understanding of non‑profit budgeting processes, building proposal budgets, and ability to work closely with finance team on fiscal reporting. High degree of professionalism, discretion, and attention to detail. Proficiency with fundraising CRMs (e.g., Raiser’s Edge, Salesforce) and Microsoft Office. You May Have the Following Assets Experience with capital campaigns and/or planned giving. Familiarity with values‑based, anti‑oppressive, and community‑centric fundraising approaches. Interest in and/or knowledge of placemaking, urban sustainability, or environmental causes. Still Interested? Here Are Some Other Things You Should Know This is a full‑time salaried role to fill a vacant position. The target hire rate for this role is $78,000 to $88,000. To ensure equity and transparency, our target hire rates are real and are not flexible. The paid vacation allocation for this role is 15 days. This role is supervised by Director, Philanthropy. Working Conditions While Evergreen is a hybrid organization, some presence on site at Evergreen Brick Works will be required for success in this role, and the preference is for a Toronto‑based candidate. The successful applicant should expect to be on site at Evergreen Brick Works a couple days per week, with some evening and weekend work as‑needed.
