Field is looking for an experienced Quality Assurance Manager to lead and strengthen its quality systems and regulatory compliance efforts. This strategic leadership role is ideal for a hands‑on professional with a deep understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS), aerospace regulations, and continuous improvement methodologies. Role Overview As the Quality Assurance Manager, you will lead the organization’s entire quality function — from policy development and regulatory compliance to audit readiness and continuous improvement. This role is accountable for ensuring all products, processes, and systems meet stringent civil aviation, customer, and regulatory requirements, including AMO operations and CARs 563. You will work closely with executive leadership, operations, and aircraft maintenance teams to foster a strong culture of quality, safety, and accountability, while driving measurable improvements in compliance and operational performance. Key Responsibilities Quality System, AMO & Regulatory Compliance Lead the development, implementation, and continual improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS) in accordance with ISO 9001, AS9100D, CARs 563, and applicable civil aviation regulations (e.g., Transport Canada, EASA). Ensure ongoing compliance for Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO) activities, including aircraft maintenance, component control, and release-to-service processes. Maintain oversight of the organization’s Safety Management System (SMS), ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and operational risk management. Serve as the primary quality and compliance liaison with regulatory authorities, customers, and external auditors. Lead and document Management Review meetings, presenting performance metrics, audit outcomes, risks, and improvement initiatives to senior leadership. Leadership & Team Development Lead, mentor, and develop the Quality Assurance team, providing clear direction, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities. Assign and authorize certified inspectors, and approve quality releases for maintained, manufactured, or distributed products. Foster strong cross‑functional collaboration with aircraft maintenance, engineering, supply chain, and operations to embed quality and safety across the organization. Model accountable leadership and decision‑making in a regulated aviation environment. Policy, Process & Continuous Improvement Review, approve, and certify Quality Manuals, procedures, and controlled documentation in support of AMO, maintenance, and manufacturing activities. Lead Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives focused on reducing nonconformities, improving audit outcomes, and strengthening operational reliability. Investigate product, process, and maintenance‑related nonconformities using structured root cause analysis and implement effective Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA). Track and report quality and safety performance using meaningful KPIs and trend analysis. Auditing & Supplier Oversight Plan and manage internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits, ensuring audit readiness, timely corrective actions, and sustained compliance. Oversee the supplier quality program, including supplier approval, performance monitoring, and risk mitigation. Review purchase orders and supplier documentation to confirm inclusion of all applicable quality, airworthiness, and regulatory requirements. Candidate Requirements College diploma or equivalent in Aerospace, Aircraft Maintenance, Quality Engineering, or a related technical discipline. AS9100D certification (required). Minimum 5 years of progressive quality leadership experience within a regulated aerospace, aviation, or aircraft maintenance environment. Demonstrated experience working within an AMO and strong working knowledge of CARs 563. Practical experience supporting or overseeing aircraft maintenance operations and Safety Management Systems (SMS). Strong working knowledge of ISO 9001, AS9100D, Transport Canada, and EASA regulatory frameworks. Proven leadership capability managing technical teams and complex quality systems.
