Quality Assurance Manager

General Duties:

Manages and oversees all quality assurance functions, ensuring that the Quality Management System is established, implemented, and maintained and that regulatory and customer quality requirements are met.

Essential Job Functions:

• Review, amend and certify the Quality Policy Manual and Procedures.
• Support and oversee the Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) program.
• Report to the management committee on the performance of the quality system.
• Ensure that all quality requirements of the Quality System and Transport Canada's regulations are addressed through Management Review Meetings.
• Ensure all special processes meet stated requirements.
• Ensure that training is implemented, and records are maintained.
• Assign certified or competent inspectors when specialized inspections are required. Appoint and authorize inspectors to certify manufactured or distributed products.
• Manage internal and external nature.
• Monitor all reported rejections and actions as required.
• Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any nonconformity relating to the product, process and / or the quality system.
• Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and/or the quality system.
• Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels and follow through on their implementation.
• Contribute to contract reviews as required.
• Contribute to team effort by maintaining a positive attitude among team members.
• Supervise and provide guidance to each member of the quality assurance team.
• Delegate appropriate tasks to his direct reports and follow up on their completion.
• Participate in the MRB reporting process.
• Participate in contract review.
• Review POs for quality requirements
• Oversee supplier approval

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in implementation and/or maintenance of quality systems (including ISO9001:2008+AS9100C).
• Experience in implementing Transport Canada regulations, EASA requirements and other applicable regulatory entities.
• Experience in the performance or supervision of technical activities of similar complexity to those undertaken by the organization.

Education:

• Minimum college diploma in an aerospace or quality engineering related field.
