What You’ll Be Doing As a member of the Global Markets team, you’ll be delivering innovative banking and investment solutions to CIBC’s retail, wealth and business clients including corporates, governments and institutional clients around the world. You’ll be joining our Equity Research team in Calgary and will be provided the opportunity to gain experience in the large-cap, integrated, SMID-cap and Oilfield services (OFS) energy coverage teams. Important Information You are enrolled in a Masters/MBA degree in a Commerce, Economics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math), or related program at the time of the internship, with a graduation date no earlier than December 2026. How You’ll Succeed Passion for financial markets – Demonstrate strong technical, quantitative, and analytical skills, with keen interest in the financial markets and proven record of academic success, teamwork and extracurricular involvement. Project management – Take the lead with projects and tasks that will provide the opportunity to learn about the Capital Markets industry and to develop the skills required for solid financial analysis. Reporting and analysis - Gain valuable knowledge of the process involved in writing research reports, forecasting, researching and analyzing companies, industries and market trends. Communication – Partner with your team to make an impact by applying a technical skillset to help generate insights and/or optimize processes. Showcase highly effective written, oral and presentation skills with an ability to explain complex concepts. Who You Are You have demonstrated interest in Capital Markets. You are highly motivated, accomplished and a success-oriented individual who has a keen interest in pursuing a career in the financial services industry demonstrated through school courses, clubs and/or related work experience. You have a proven record of academic success, teamwork and extracurricular involvement. It’s an asset if you can show a strong understanding of financial reporting.
