Job Summary

As a Flight Operations Safety & QA Investigator at Porter Airlines, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and enhancing the safety standards of our flight operations. Your primary responsibility will be to investigate and analyze safety-related incidents and occurrences within the flight operations domain. This includes incidents ranging from minor deviations to more serious safety concerns. Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Lead or assist in investigations of safety incidents, accidents, or occurrences within the flight operations department
  2. Gather and analyze relevant data, interviewing involved personnel, and reconstructing events to determine contributing factors
  3. Utilize analytical tools and methodologies to assess safety risks and trends
  4. Identify systemic issues or areas for improvement and provide recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance safety
  5. Identify areas for improved operational excellence
  6. Work closely with various stakeholders within the organization, including flight crews, maintenance personnel, ground operations, and management, to gather information and insights pertinent to safety and quality assurance investigations
  7. Maintain detailed records of investigations, findings, and recommendations in accordance with regulatory requirements and company policies
  8. Prepare comprehensive reports summarizing investigation results and proposed corrective actions
  9. Stay abreast of relevant aviation regulations, industry best practices, and safety standards
  10. Actively participate in safety-related meetings, forums, and training sessions to enhance personal knowledge and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Safety Management System within flight operations
  11. Any other duties assigned by the Operations Manager

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aeronautical science, or a related field preferred
  2. Previous experience in aviation safety, flight operations, or a related discipline is highly desirable
  3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to critically evaluate data and draw meaningful conclusions
  4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels
  5. Knowledge of SMS principles, investigation techniques, and regulatory requirements applicable to aviation safety
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  7. Attention to detail and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and professionalism
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel as well as Adobe
  9. Proficient in the Google Suite including Google Drive, Gmail, Meets etc.
  10. Excellent communication skills in the English language
  11. Able to commute to Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport Office (CYTZ)
