Our Auto Body Technician must be able to take a vehicle in a damaged state and repair or restore damaged vehicles to their original structural integrity, function, and appearance. The incumbent is detail oriented and can multitask to accommodate shifting priorities. The technician reports to the Production Manager.ResponsibilitiesReview damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performedThoroughly examine collision damage, review exterior body parts, check power accessories (doors, locks, windows, mirrors) for operation, and ensure dash panel has no warning lights; identify any prior damages on QA checklist or supplemental damage sheetPerform structural and complete body repairs: repair and replace front end components, body components, doors, frame and underbody components; assess, repair or replace interior and exterior parts, electrical components, and vehicle accessoriesStraighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment; hammer out dents and defectsWeld on vehicles using MIG welders and compression spot weldersFully dismantle damaged areas to identify hidden damages; remove damaged fenders, panels and grills; repair or replace damaged windows, windshields and sunroofFile, grind and sand repaired surfaces using power tools and hand toolsOperate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seamsRestore vehicle to factory specifications and test drive for proper handlingRead and understand estimates; comprehend automotive repair proceduresWork with a variety of metals and plastics, as well as glass, electrical and mechanical partsExperience using frame and measuring equipment; experience with disassembly and reassembly of vehiclesFollow standardized production processesBe a great CSN ambassadorPerform other duties as assigned by managementQualificationsAuto Body Repair 3+ years requiredAuto Body Collision and Damage Repairer license is favorableTechnicians with I-CAR and OEM certifications are favorableCarrying, lifting up to 100 lbs; standing, sitting, walking, reachingValid driver’s license requiredMust have own tools and safety footwearBenefitsHealth & Dental including a drug planSchedule8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday to FridayCareer Path: As CSN continues to grow, other career opportunities may become available.Disclaimer: This job description may not be inclusive of all duties and will evolve as CSN grows.CSN is an Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
