Recognizing that Black, Indigenous, and other Racialized communities have experienced inequities that have developed historically and are ongoing, we strongly welcome and encourage candidates from those communities to apply.Your opportunity:Working under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, the Research Lab Coordinator will be responsible for general lab maintenance and supporting research activities including: assisting with subject recruitment, database maintenance and subject testing. The Research Lab Coordinator will be involved in recruiting participants from the community as well as participants diagnosed with serious mental health conditions from health care facilities. The Lab Coordinator will organize and facilitate lab meetings and be the primary point of contact for all members of the research lab.Your responsibilities will include:Proofing and posting adverts to recruit applicantsMaintaining an inventory of clinic suppliesOrdering supplies with approvalProviding orientation to others on work procedures and practicesEssential Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Psychology or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience.Minimum one year of research experience working with people experiencing psychotic disorders.Experience working in a research lab with general knowledge of research methodology.Experience running and recruiting participants for research purposes for developmental studies.Experience providing direction/orientation to students and research participants.Experience preparing statistical reports and data entry.Experience with research ethics applications.Experience with social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.) to communicate with participant recruitment and knowledge dissemination.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.Strong organizational, interpersonal, written and verbal skills is required.Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize to meet deadlines.Applicants are expected to show evidence of a commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, and the promotion of a respectful and collegial learning and working environment.Assets (Nonessential):Specific course work in developmental psychology, cognitive, and/or social psychology preferred.To be successful in this role you will be:AccountableApproachableCooperativeMotivated self-learnerResponsibleAdditional Notes:This is a 1-year term positionThere are two openings available, please apply to both requisitions (31959 & 31960) to be considered for bothA copy of the full job description is available upon request from the UTSC HR Office .Closing Date: 06/22/2023, 11:59PM ETEmployee Group: USWAppointment Type: Budget - TermSchedule: Full-TimePay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:USW Pay Band 05 -- $47,204 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $60,366.
