HR Specialist, Global Snacking – McCain Foods Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada Position Type: Regular – Full Time About the Role We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join us in Global Snacking. This position reports directly to the Human Resource Business Partner, Business Functions (HRBP). The HR Specialist is responsible for providing HR support for Supply Chain, Portfolio & Marketing, Finance, and our International team leveraging knowledge of local / regional / cultural nuances and handling unique language and time zone requirements. The role partners closely with various regional teams and centers of excellence as well as with the Global Snacking team. In addition to these main areas of support, the HR Specialist plays a key role in supporting all HR activities, programs, and projects in support of our Winning Culture Strategy. What You’ll Be Doing Support managers and team members to ensure they have the tools and resources required to do their jobs at the highest quality. Support wellness activities and contribute to culture. Partner with regional Talent Acquisition to execute local recruitment efforts, maintain requisitions, run talent acquisition events, proactively source candidates, develop and maintain local candidate pools, and manage internal posting processes. Execute onboarding of new hires in collaboration with regional teams. Process voluntary and involuntary separations in line with legal requirements, mitigating risks and managing life‑cycle processes. Handle employee relations, including investigations and corrective actions. Share insights and trends with stakeholders to improve HR customer service delivery. Ensure adherence to the HR Operating Model, maintain high employee self‑service and HR Now adoption rates. Support business and HR initiatives, programs, and projects that reinforce our winning culture. Qualifications 1–3 years of experience as an HR Generalist or related progressive HR experience. Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field preferred. Professional Human Resources certification is an asset. Skills & Abilities Relationship building.
