ERP Development Manager

We are partnering with a retail-sector client seeking a hands‑on ERP Development Manager to lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise ERP solutions. This leader will oversee the transition from legacy systems to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, guide an ERP development team, and collaborate with multiple business units to deliver scalable, secure, and high‑performance systems. ERP Strategy & Architecture Lead the migration from Microsoft Navision (on‑prem) to Business Central (cloud). Modernize NAV legacy objects/customizations into Business Central extensions using AL. POS and retail systems E‑commerce platforms CRM and WMS Finance, inventory, merchandising, supply chain Vendor APIs and third‑party solutions Establish standards for system security, data protection, monitoring, and observability. Data Migration & Governance Oversee NAV → Business Central data model mapping. Manage ETL, data cleansing, validation, and final cut‑over execution. Implement strong data governance practices, master data ownership, and reconciliation workflows. Engineering Leadership (Hands‑On) Review, write, and optimize AL/CAL code and refactoring strategies. Implement DevOps pipelines, automated builds, and structured release processes. Own environment management (sandbox, UAT, production) and branching strategy. Define testing frameworks (unit, regression, performance). Maintain documentation standards and version control best practices. Lead a team of ERP developers, with the ability to expand the team as needed. Coach developers on Business Central extension development and modern secure engineering. Introduce agile and DevOps methodologies including sprint planning and RCA processes. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Act as the technical liaison between business leaders and the ERP roadmap. Conduct discovery workshops, design sessions, and end‑user enablement initiatives. Communicate complex technical subjects in clear business‑focused language. Governance & Compliance Partner with IT leadership to maintain cybersecurity and compliance standards. Work closely with ERP, e‑commerce, and retail operations teams to ensure secure integrations. Participate in change management, incident reviews, and disaster recovery planning. Mentor junior team members on documentation and best practices. Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities as required. Required Qualifications 7+ years of ERP development experience (NAV/Business Central) including AL/CAL extensions. Strong understanding of LS Central, NAV, Business Central, or similar retail ERP/POS environments. Experience with key NAV modules (Financials, GL, Purchasing, Sales, Cost Accounting, Jobs). Familiarity with LS Retail or comparable POS frameworks. Experience with EDI. Strong background in system architecture, integrations, and cloud migrations. Expertise in secure integration patterns (OAuth, token‑based systems, message queues). Proficiency with CI/CD, automated builds, and regression testing. Strong understanding of master data design, ETL, governance, and data quality. Knowledge of cloud security (Azure AD, least privilege), ERP access governance, and environment management. Experience with e‑commerce integration (Magento or similar). Preferred Skills Experience with Azure services (Functions, Service Bus, Key Vault, AD Security).
