Head of IT - Manchester / Cheshire

Are you an innovative IT leader passionate about technology strategy and development? We’re looking for a Head of IT for a small but growing company in the Manchester area. You will join our client's senior leadership team and drive their IT strategy, development processes, and technology alignment across the business.

Our client is committed to using cutting-edge technology to support their business objectives and deliver seamless operational efficiency. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will be in charge of IT innovation, development, and infrastructure management, impacting the entire company.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead IT & Development Strategy: Define and execute the IT and software development strategy to align with company goals.
  2. Software Development: Oversee the small development team - C#, ASP.NET, MVC.
  3. Developer & Testing Management: Manage the development and QA teams, ensuring high-quality delivery, coding standards, and efficient processes like Agile/DevOps.
  4. Infrastructure Management: Oversee cloud-based infrastructure (AWS) and work closely with Infosec to ensure system security and compliance.
  5. Frontline Support Management: Lead IT support teams to ensure fast and effective resolution of technical issues.
  6. Subsidiary Tech Alignment: Ensure unified technology solutions across the company and its subsidiaries, including phone systems and communication tools.
  7. Communication Bridge: Act as the primary liaison between the IT department, the board of directors, and operations, ensuring alignment on all key initiatives.
  8. R&D Project Leadership: Manage and deliver R&D projects, ensuring innovation in tech development and continuous business growth.

Skills and Experience:
  1. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  2. Experience: Significant leadership experience in IT and software development, including managing cloud infrastructure (AWS) and infosec practices.
  3. Technical Skills: Experience with Agile/DevOps methodologies, project management, and testing management.
  4. Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative approach to cross-functional projects.
  5. Strategic Leadership: Proven track record of aligning IT with business goals and driving innovation across multiple entities.
  6. Infrastructure and Software Development experience.
