Senior Manager/Director Enterprise Risk and Portfolio Management Reporting & Insights Business Innovation Supports the ERPM Reporting & Insights business innovation team in ideating, developing, testing and executing UX initiatives, including risk, regulatory and management reporting for internal and external stakeholders. Drives an efficient, effective risk management function leveraging common information sources and practices to reduce costs, increase service level performance and minimize risk. Leads the development and maintenance of the risk reporting framework. Recommends business priorities, advises on resource requirements and develops roadmap for strategic execution. Analyzes data to provide risk-related insights and recommendations for the assigned portfolio (e.g., capital at risk modeling, risk/return assessments). Represents risk reporting in internal/external regulatory audits and examinations. Designs, develops and implements reporting solutions to meet management and regulatory requirements. Provides strategic input as a trusted advisor to business decisions. Delivers recommendations on strategy and new initiatives to senior leaders. Serves as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies. Networks with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices. Interprets new regulations and assesses impacts on the reporting strategy/program. Influences and negotiates to achieve business objectives. Identifies emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making. Manages resources and leads execution of strategic initiatives. Measures effectiveness of the reporting program, recommending changes as required. Conducts independent analysis to resolve strategic issues. Acts as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders. Ensures alignment between stakeholders. Designs and produces regular and ad‑hoc reports and dashboards. Develops and manages comprehensive information management systems. Leads change management programs of varying scope and type. Leads execution of operational programs, assessing and adapting as needed. Provides specialized support for other internal and external regulatory requirements. Provides input to planning and implementation of operational programs in the reporting framework. Participates in design, implementation and management of core business/group processes. Provides advice on analytical and reporting solutions. Executes work to deliver timely, accurate, efficient service for scheduled reporting processes. Maintains monitoring and measurement of key risk indicators. Supports interpretation of internal and external policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with data owners to select and use data sources. Ensures strong governance and effective controls across reporting activities. Analyzes data, highlights significant information, vectors, opportunities and exposures. Supports the audit process, providing information and assistance. Formats data into regular and ad‑hoc reports and dashboards. Supports strategic initiatives in collaboration with stakeholders. Builds effective relationships with stakeholders. Maintains operational procedures and processes related to reporting. Develops tools and delivers training on key data elements used in risk reporting. Participates in process design and implementation to ensure accurate data for reporting. Organizes work information to ensure accuracy and completeness. Operates at a group/enterprise-wide level, serving as specialist resource to senior leaders. Applies expertise to complex, ambiguous situations for creative solutions. Implements changes in response to shifting trends. Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed. Qualifications Typically +7 years of relevant experience in Capital Markets Risk (Counterparty Credit Risk and/or Market Risk and/or Capital – FRTB) and a post‑secondary degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge and experience in data preparation, data analysis and statistical tools including Python, PowerBI, Tableau, SQL, R. Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge. In‑depth knowledge of risk management metrics, KPIs and KRIs. Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements for risk reporting. Product knowledge for the designated business/portfolio. Knowledge of risk management theory, processes and portfolio reporting techniques. Knowledge of reporting & analytics concepts and applications. Knowledge of risk systems technology. Deep knowledge and technical proficiency gained through extensive education and business experience. Verbal & written communication skills – In‑depth. Collaboration & team skills – In‑depth. Salary $86,000.00 – $160,000.00 Pay Type Salaried Job Details The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
