If you're a skilled problem-solver who thrives on variety and takes pride in ensuring the reliability of essential equipment, apply now to bring your expertise to our dedicated team and play a crucial role in our community's infrastructure.The Heavy Duty Mechanic, TQ performs skilled mechanical work at the journeyman level in the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of automotive and related power equipment in the shop and field. An employee of this class works under the general supervision of the Mechanic Foreman but uses considerable independent judgment in their work. Oral and written assignments are received from the Mechanic Foreman, who checks and tests the work in progress and upon completion for workmanship and conformance to desirable standards.Our ideal candidate has completed Grade 12 or equivalent, supplemented by technical courses such as Commercial Vehicle Inspection Certification, as well as considerable general and heavy-duty mechanical experience, including diesel mechanics at the journeyman level, a valid and subsisting Class 3 BC Driver’s license with air brake endorsement, and an applicable mechanical trade certificate.
