Department: Enterprise Risk ManagementLocation: Halifax, NSClosing Date: January 5, 2026Reporting to the Senior Director, Enterprise Risk Management, the Risk Manager will require good judgment, initiative, curiosity, confidentiality, and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑moving and often highly sensitive environment. Periodic travel is required. Key Responsibilities Supporting the operating companies as they manage their commodities portfolios. This includes analyzing deal structures and facilitating management approvals per company policies. Administering regular risk meetings, including overseeing agendas and preparing/organizing meeting materials. Monitoring adherence to internal policies and authorization limits and ensuring issues are investigated and reported. Assisting with market risk and credit questions from operating companies and negotiating master agreements for physical commodities and financial products. Analyzing and evaluating counterparty creditworthiness and transactional credit requirements. Creating and maintaining databases, files, and records related to risk & credit processes and approvals with compliance to SOx and other standards. Acting as a champion for the Company’s ETRM system, Allegro. Preparing and presenting reports for various committees. Establishing procedures and providing training on policy and associated practices. Supporting Emera and/or its Affiliate Enterprise Risk Management activities as required. Managing an Analyst. Required Qualifications Eight or more years of experience as an analyst or in a related role. Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field of study. Strong understanding and application of the Microsoft Office suite. Strong relationship and communication skills with excellent multi‑tasking abilities. Experience thriving in a fast‑paced, often stressful work environment. Proactive in building and maintaining customer relationships. Open‑minded, flexible to change, and a strong team player.
