Senior Accountant

Midland Transport is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to be based out of our Head Office location in Dieppe, NB. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, the senior accountant is responsible for performing a variety of accounting functions and aiding the Accounting Manager. You have exceptional critical thinking, problem-solving, and prioritization skills You have strong interpersonal and organizational skills You have a demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop a team You have forward-thinking mindset and are driven to continually improve financial processes You are detail-oriented with a focus on delivering high quality work Responsibilities Prepare monthly journal entries to ensure accurate revenue recognition and proper expense matching at period-end cut-off Ensure timely publication of period-end financial results for terminal managers and senior leadership Analize revenue, expenses and statistical data across operations, comparing results against budgets and prior periods for reasonability Provide internal and external support to business partners, ensuring effective communication and resolution of financial inquiries Train, coach, and support members of accounting team Participate in process improvement initiatives Other duties/projects as assigned #J-18808-Ljbffr
