Your Team Allianz Commercial (Az C) specializes in corporate property insurance for the most complex and challenging risk exposures in more than 200 countries and territories. With a focus on larger international risk portfolios, we offer tailor‑made “All Risks” property damage and business interruption insurance through our Allianz Commercial Property network. We insure the majority of Allianz Commercial Property Fortune 500 companies, manage over 1,000 insurance programs, and field an underwriting team averaging over 20 years of experience. Impact You Will Have As a Senior Underwriter you will play a crucial role in driving the success of our Property Line of Business by underwriting profitable new and renewal business. Your expertise will ensure we meet our targets while adhering to underwriting guidelines and authority. You will negotiate price, terms, and conditions and maintain ownership of key accounts and clients, developing strong relationships with producers and clients in partnership with Market Management. Responsibilities Underwrite profitable business: evaluate new and renewal accounts to meet top and bottom-line targets; proactively manage capacity and assess natural catastrophe accumulation. Ensure underwriting aligns with governance frameworks, including Underwriting Authorities, Guidelines, Rules, and Principles; achieve contract certainty at inception; use global pricing tools effectively. Maintain accurate policy documentation and support policy administration and credit control processes. Support the acquisition of new business and retention of existing business through client and producer negotiations; liaise with Distribution on market management initiatives. Represent Allianz Commercial positively in the market; drive involvement of functional areas in underwriting and develop strong relationships with key producers, clients, and stakeholders. Qualifications and Experience Technical expertise: Proven track record in underwriting profitable property business with robust understanding of products and portfolios (minimum 3 years). Risk assessment and management: Ability to assess exposure and natural hazards relevant to property. Portfolio management: Experience managing underwriting books, analyzing trends, and developing portfolio strategies. Pricing and market insight: Ability to analyze performance against benchmarks and ensure satisfactory progress; understanding of legal and regulatory frameworks. Education and certifications: Preferably a degree in Economics, Finance, Insurance Management, or Business Administration; progress toward professional insurance qualifications (e.g., CIP). General skills: Strong analytical, communication, and presentation abilities; proficiency in IT (Office applications); influencing skills to motivate others without executive authority. Language Proficiency in English; French desirable. Basic understanding of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential applications in business. What’s in it for you?
