Technical Writer COOP *12 months fixed termLocation: Ottawa, CanadaThales requires two Technical Writer Interns for a 12‑month fixed term to maintain and develop documentation for Hardware Security Modules (HSMs). The role involves creating API documentation, installation procedures, diagrams, customer release notes, and product overviews.Position SummaryResponsible for maintenance and development of documentation for HSMs, ensuring adherence to Thales's house style and standards. Collaborate with a team of technical writers, developers, testers, and sales engineers.Key Areas of ResponsibilityMaintain, revise, and improve existing technical documentation.Author, edit, and format technical documentation with high standards of grammar, clarity, consistency, and style.Perform editorial reviews to ensure accuracy, consistency of terminology, and compliance with standards.Research, test, and document HSM procedures and features in collaboration with engineering, development, test, and sales teams.Monitor and respond to documentation-focused issues in Jira, draft and validate requested changes, and publish them to the web in accordance with review and version control practices.Basic QualificationsDiploma or degree from a recognized college/university in a relevant technical or communications field (computer science, computer engineering, English, communications, journalism, or equivalent).Enrollment in a Technical Writer Ontario College Graduate Certificate program (or equivalent).
