Our client in Kitchener is looking for an Electrical Applications Engineer to join their team in a full-time permanent roleIf you are trained in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics AND you have a passion for electric vehicles and how they work, then this role is for YOUIn this role, you will work closely with customers, understand their product requirements and make their dreams into a reality A passion for customer service is also a prerequisite of this roleIf you have these important qualities, you could be the lucky recipient of this unique Engineering position which includes customer facing interaction, turning their ideas into a working product and then providing customer support and troubleshooting post deliveryCome be a part of this very niche company and be the recipient of a Salary between 75-85K and a solid benefits packageRequired SkillsEngineering degree in Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics with a focus on electrical systems3-5 years of experience and strong knowledge of electric motor controllers, electric motors, and applicationsExperience in a customer-focussed, technical support or electrical application engineering roleExperience or passionate interest in electrical vehicle powertrain design and integration would be an assetGood understanding of the functional safety of electric motors and the ability to troubleshoot electrical system failureExperience working with business customers to gather specifications and provide solutions for their product developmentHands-on experience with wiring, installing and troubleshooting electric vehicle control and traction systemsStrong customer focus with a sense of urgency and ability to work with tight deadlinesStrong interpersonal and communications skills with a focus on providing top notch serviceExcellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust have or working on obtaining a Professional Engineer designationAbility to travel internationally, occasionally, as requiredKey ResponsibilitiesMaintain detailed familiarity with company products and technologiesGather and understand Customers’ product requirements: assist in developing Scope of Work (SOW), Requests for Proposals (RFP) etc.Provide technical support and consultation for the design and implementation of electric motors and controller systems for customer products.Develop and provide technical/product training and support for the Sales Team, Sales Representatives and CustomersProvide technical support and guidance to electric vehicle manufacturers, dealers and end-users.Troubleshoot electromechanical systems, including software, mechanical and electrical hardwareAbility to monitor market conditions and competition to support the organization in understanding the market and help to develop new productsAttend industry events and trade shows to promote the company’s products and servicesOnboard and support customers through their product development cyclesCreate and maintain technical documentation, including datasheets and user manualsProvide support for functional safety and electrical system failure analysisDevelop and analyze electrical and mechanical solutions/schematicsSend your resume today if you meet these requirements to: jayne@grandriverpersonnel.ca#INDGRP123Grand River Personnel is committed to promoting accessibility for Ontarians with disabilities and complying with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, and makes accommodations available for applicants with disabilities in its recruitment processes.
