You'll bring hands‑on experience and strategic insight to guide project execution, from concept to completion, ensuring Egis continues to set benchmarks for innovation and quality in urban transportation. You’ll drive innovation, inspire a dynamic team, and position Egis as a leader in rail and transit solutions. From advanced light rail transit systems to modern commuter rail, metro networks, and transformative bus rapid transit corridors, you'll shape the future of sustainable mobility, leaving a lasting legacy in the industry. You will oversee and motivate teams working on some of Canada's most iconic transit projects, such as the Blue Line LRT in Montreal, the Capital Line South LRT Extension in Edmonton, and the GO Expansion – On‑Corridor Works in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. Additionally, you'll be involved in the Ontario Line in Toronto and the Gatineau‑Ottawa Tramway. Your technical expertise and leadership will help push the boundaries of innovation and creativity while addressing the challenges of urban growth and connectivity. Job Description What You’ll Do Visionary Leadership Execute a bold vision for Egis's Rail and Transit practice in Canada, positioning Egis as an industry leader in transformative transit solutions in Canada with the support of the expertise of our global Transportation Business Line. Anticipate market trends and technological advances to drive forward‑thinking strategies and capture growth opportunities. Establish a high‑performing team culture centred on collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Support professional development opportunities in Canada and abroad to cultivate the next generation of leaders in rail & transit engineering. Operational and Financial Excellence Take full accountability for the financial performance of the Rail and Transit team in Canada, driving growth by setting and achieving ambitious revenue and profitability targets while ensuring efficient resource management and operational excellence. Lead proposals, work plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring excellence in execution. Ensure quality management processes are in place and followed across all projects. Collaborate with VPs in other divisions within Egis to deliver the proposal and projects. Business Development and Market Leadership Cultivate strong relationships with public and private clients, becoming a trusted advisor and champion for sustainable rail & transit development. Lead the pursuit of iconic projects such as light rail transit, urban metros, bus rapid transit systems, as well as inter‑urban passenger rail opportunities including HSR. Lead marketing and business development initiatives, in conjunction with our Commercial team, that align with Egis's strategic goals. Secure partnerships and alliances that enhance Egis's capabilities and reputation in the rail and transit sectors. Technical Expertise and Mentorship Serve as a recognized expert in rail and transit engineering, offering guidance on complex projects and design challenges. Provide mentorship and technical guidance to engineers and teams, fostering growth and innovation. Adapt the Egis' expertise and technical knowledge to the Canadian market. Ensure designs meet and exceed codes, standards, and regulations. Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts to deliver exceptional project outcomes. Qualifications What You Bring to the Table Proven Leadership: 20+ years as a Professional Engineer with a track record of success in rail and transit projects. Inspirational Presence: A leader who inspires teams, clients, and industry peers through visionary leadership and collaboration. Technical Expertise: Expertise in light rail transit systems, commuter rail, metro systems, and other urban transit and transportation engineering. Client‑Focused Drive: Extensive experience working with public transit agencies, private sector partners, and stakeholders. Financial Acumen: Deep understanding of consulting engineering, project delivery, and financial management. Cultural Agility: Bilingual ability in English and French is an asset.
