Our client, a leading global asset management firm is currently looking for a dedicated individual to join their finance team, focusing on tax-related responsibilities under the guidance of our Team Lead for Taxation. This position is essential for managing and enhancing tax-related operations, ensuring compliance, optimizing our tax structure, and contributing to overall financial strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in managing tax compliance tasks across Canada and the U.S., including preparation of necessary documents and filings related to corporate and partnership income taxes, and ensuring accurate and timely submissions.
  • Contribute to the tax reporting process, including the preparation of tax provisions and disclosures for financial statements, in alignment with U.S. GAAP and IFRS standards.
  • Engage in various tax-related projects, including assisting in tax audits, identifying improvements in tax processes, monitoring tax legislation, and providing tax-related support and guidance within the organization.
  • Document and communicate tax-related findings and strategies effectively.
  • Facilitate the coordination and processing of tax payments and filings, ensuring adherence to all regulatory deadlines and compliance requirements.
  • Actively participate in the development and implementation of strategic tax planning initiatives to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness in tax matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field. CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate income tax, preferably within a public accounting firm or a publicly traded company.
  • Completion of or ongoing participation in a specialized tax course is an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of corporate and partnership tax compliance, tax accounting, and financial reporting standards.
  • Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to work independently, maintain attention to detail, meet deadlines, and communicate effectively.
