Job Description

Partner Staffing is currently working with our client to find an intermediate Environmental Consultant for the Reclamation and Remediation Team and Operational Compliance Team, based out of their Calgary, Alberta office. Description
  1. Developing and implementing reclamation and remediation plans on abandoned upstream oil and gas sites
  2. Overseeing the completion of assessment, remediation, and reclamation projects
  3. Overseeing completion of spill assessments, containment, recovery, and remediation activities
  4. Coordinating and supervising heavy equipment and other third-party contractors as required
  5. Assisting with the oversight of client budgets, tracking project statuses, and making recommendations to progress sites toward regulatory closure
  6. Coordinate with clients and staff to execute Environmental Site Assessments (Phase 1 ESAs, Stage 1 PSIs, Phase 2 ESAs, Stage 2 PSIs), vegetation assessments, groundwater monitoring programs, and reclamation assessments (DSAs, reclamation inspections, and Schedule B reclamation inspections)
  7. Collaborate with members of the Technical Resource Group to develop site-specific remediation guidelines
  8. Work closely and develop relationships with landowners, client operations, government regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders
  9. Work closely with interdisciplinary groups (Technical Resource Group, Data Management Group, Biophysical team, and Vegetation Management team) to execute client projects successfully and programs
  10. Compile various technical documents and reports including DSA RoO’s, reclamation inspection reports, Phase 2 ESA reports, Stage 2 PSI reports, spill assessments, remediation reports, Record of Site Condition forms, Certificate of Restoration (CoR) applications, and reclamation certificate applications
  11. Provide mentorship and training to junior staff
  12. Provide support to senior staff as required
Requirements
  1. A minimum of 5 years of consulting experience related to remediation, reclamation, or environmental science
  2. Knowledgeable and capable of completing various field assessments in Alberta and British Columbia
  3. Good understanding of upstream oil and gas regulatory requirements in British Columbia and Alberta
  4. Knowledge and experience working with various types of farming and heavy equipment
  5. Vegetation and weed identification skills in both forested and cultivated landscapes
  6. Willingness to travel and be in the field as dictated by project requirements
  7. Technical Diploma or University Degree in environmental science or related discipline is preferred but not required
  8. Registration or eligibility to obtain designation with a recognized professional organization
  9. Excellent communication, writing, and problem-solving skills
  10. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and database entry
  11. Valid driver’s license
  12. Willingness to work within a team environment
  13. Highly organized and can prioritize multiple tasks
  14. Ability to work outdoors in varying conditions
