Senior Accountant Insituform Technologies® (Insituform Technologies Ltd.) is seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to work out of our Edmonton office. For over 50 years, Insituform Technologies® has led the pipeline rehabilitation industry, pioneering cured‑in‑place pipe (CIPP) technology to restore a vast infrastructure network, including water, sewage, and drainage systems in municipal and industrial environments. Summary Reporting directly to the Senior Finance Manager, the Senior Accountant oversees day‑to‑day accounting operations, ensures accurate financial reporting, and maintains strong internal controls across the CIPP business unit. This role combines hands‑on accounting responsibilities with financial analysis and business support, providing clear financial insights to operations and management. Responsibilities Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes to ensure timely and accurate results. Prepare financial statements, supplemental reports, and related analysis for management review. Ensure timely balance sheet account reconciliations and variance analysis are completed and uploaded into Blackline. Oversee intercompany transactions, ensuring reconciliations and settlements reduce unnecessary balance sheet exposures. Provide support for the audit process, supplying documentation, schedules, and addressing auditor inquiries. Assist in annual budget preparation, forecasts, and monthly variance analysis. Lead billing and cash collection functions to maximize cash flow relative to DSO targets. Manage day‑to‑day cash flow and collaborate with Treasury on cash targets. Prepare and submit monthly provincial tax, GST, and WCB reports/reconciliations. Support and participate in financial and business system implementation. Serve as a business partner to operations, delivering pertinent information for informed decision‑making and business growth. Work effectively in a matrixed organization, building relationships with operational administration, centralized AP clerks, and corporate staff. Qualifications Chartered Accountant (CPA) designation. 3‑5 years of progressive accounting experience (full‑cycle preferred). Strong computer skills with high proficiency in Microsoft Office/Excel and internet applications; experience with JD Edwards is an asset. Experience creating financial statements, general ledger functions, and month‑end/year‑end close processes. Excellent communication and collaboration skills; enjoys teamwork and building cross‑department relationships. High integrity, dependability, and results‑orientation. Proactive, organized, flexible, and meets deadlines. Payments or Accounts Payable experience is an asset. Consistent punctuality and reliability. Detail‑oriented with excellent time‑management and quality‑focused work. Ability to multi‑task in a fast‑paced environment.
