CATHARINESHOURS OF WORK: 75 HOURS PER PAY PERIODPOSTING DATE: 07 JANUARY 2026CLOSING DATE: 19 JANUARY 2026UNION: THE PROFESSIONAL INSTITUTE OF THE PUBLIC SERVICE OF CANADAWAGE RANGE: $40.620 TO $55.650 PER HOURPosition ObjectiveThe Radiation Therapy Department at the Walker Family Cancer Centre (WFCC) is an expanding program that provides state‑of‑the‑art treatment planning, simulation, and treatment for external beam radiation. Our centre has 3 Linear Accelerators and a CT simulator. The radiation therapist works within a multi‑disciplinary department team consisting of Radiation Oncologists, Medical Physicists, Oncology Nursing, Booking Clerks, Secretaries, and Personal Support Workers who collaboratively provide comprehensive patient‑centred support to create the best patient experience per the values of Niagara Health. The duties and responsibilities of the Radiation Therapist include administering radiation treatment according to a radiation oncologist's orders for the delivery of radiation planning and treatment, adherence to the College of Medical Radiation Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) Standards of Practice, documentation of technical and patient related treatment information, integrating reflection, critical thinking, education, and relevant practical experience in problem‑solving. The therapist will participate in department quality initiatives including disease site teams (DST's) working groups and committees as well as other duties and activities as assigned. The radiation therapist will rotate through a weekend on call schedule.QualificationsGraduate of an accredited Medical Radiation Technology Program in Radiation TherapyCurrent registration with the College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario in Radiation Therapy M.R.T(T)Current CMRITO membershipCurrent BCLS certification with ongoing re‑certification mandatoryRadiation Therapist experience of at least 3 years is an assetExcellent technical, communication, organizational, patient assessment, and critical analysis skillsExcellent interpersonal and leadership skillsDemonstrated adaptability, flexibility, compassion, initiative when dealing with patients/familiesStrong organisational skills, including the ability to prioritize workloadApplies NH values and professional practice standards to patient/client care and serviceKnowledge of computer systems and general office softwareProficiency in both official languages (English and French) will be considered an assetConsistent and regular attendance requiredQuestions, quoting the job posting number may be directed to hrrecruit@niagarahealth.on.caThis position is an existing vacancy at Niagara Health.
