As the Senior Accountant, you will oversee internal reporting, ensure accurate financial data, perform reconciliations, and lead the Intermediate Accountant alongside improving accounting processes. Responsibilities Team development through one‑on‑one and group coaching sessions Lead and support the Intermediate Accountant (IA), including 1:1 meetings and annual performance reviews Prepare and review financial reports for restaurants, including Profit & Loss statements and other regular reports Monitor and improve efficiencies and effectiveness of accounting processes Prepare GL account reconciliations and review reconciliations prepared by the IA team Conduct thorough balance sheet reviews each period, ensuring accounting controls and processes are followed Perform financial statement preparation and analysis for quarter‑end deadlines Prepare audit working papers for year‑end Handle additional duties and projects assigned by the Controller Qualifications Post‑secondary education in accounting preferred, but a combination of education and relevant experience is acceptable Solid knowledge of accounting principles Prior managerial experience and the ability to lead and coach direct reports Excellent communication skills Strong problem‑solving ability with an aptitude for creative thinking Proficient in spreadsheets and related tools Core Skills Financial Accounting Financial Reporting Accounting Benefits You’ll surround yourself with a team committed to excellence Flexible work environment Comprehensive benefits package and RRSP contribution plan Quarterly meals cooked by the Leadership Team and monthly staff events Career growth, development, and continuous learning opportunities in an inclusive culture Community‑giving events through FMI Workperks discounts at various vendors across Canada and the U.S., plus discounts at all our brands Educational assistance plan and bursary program Diversity & Inclusivity FMI is committed to building diverse teams where people of all identities and backgrounds are welcome, included, and respected.
