Machine Operator – Afternoon Shift Shift: Full-Time, Monday to Friday Hours: 2:50pm to 11:00pm Pay Range: $20.82/hr to $21.79 per hour plus $.60/hr shift premium Position Overview Machine Operators play a critical role in ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement at Poly-Nova Technologies. We are currently seeking a full-time Machine Operator (Afternoon Shift) to run our Silane Treatment process and operate production machinery. The Silane Treatment Operator works directly with methanol and must wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including a mask, respirator, gloves, and apron, while performing designated tasks. This is an open position. Key Responsibilities Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) policies, and work instructions. Properly wear, maintain, and care for all required PPE in accordance with established procedures. Adhere to the approved Silane Treatment schedule and report any abnormal scrap levels, defects, or process concerns to the Supervisor or Lead Hand. Accurately mix chemicals in accordance with approved procedures, guidelines, and safety standards. Safely transport, store, and dispose of waste methanol according to regulatory requirements. Dip parts into chemical solutions and package finished parts based on required quantities; ensure all products are correctly labeled and production ready. Perform in-process inspections within cycle times, following quality inspection instructions and alerts. Complete all required shift documentation and production paperwork accurately and on time. Maintain traceability and part identification, ensuring correct labels are applied to all boxes. Notify Supervisor or Lead Hand promptly of any operational issues, quality concerns, or health and safety hazards. Maintain a clean and organized workstation (housekeeping). Relay production and quality issues during shift overlap. Crosstrain and assist in other operations as required. Qualifications, Requirements & Competencies Grade 12 diploma or equivalent. Previous chemical manufacturing experience is considered an asset. Strong commitment to workplace safety and compliance with SOPs and EH&S standards. Ability to read, understand, and follow work instructions, policies, memos, and quality alerts. Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and consistency. Effective verbal and written communication skills. Physical & Technical Requirements General mathematical and mechanical aptitude. Ability to wear required PPE, including a mask, respirator, gloves, and apron. Ability to lift 15–35 lbs (full cases of product and insert trays). Ability to stand for extended periods, with opportunities to sit during inspection tasks. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
