SUPERINTENDENT, FINANCE Leader of the Finance department for operational readiness phase and subsequent operational phase. Work closely with the project management team, project cost controller, engineering firm (EPCM) and owner’s team. Ensure processes, procedures, compliance and systems contribute to the successful execution of a mine’s business strategy and enhance shareholder value. Collaborate with senior management to determine the overall financial strategy of the mine and optimize allocation of resources, finances and stewardship of company assets. Key Responsibilities Oversee all accounting operations; develop and monitor financial plans, budgets, forecasts, Life of Mine (LOM) plans, controls and accounting practices to ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations. Review and analyze financial reports, budgets, forecasts and documentation for accuracy and compliance; regularly report all variances to the Manager Finance and Site Services. Analyze financial performance against key business metrics and document pertinent financial highlights to enable management to determine progress against budgets. Identify, investigate and analyze potential operational improvement; propose and recommend operational changes (policy, procedures, processes, systems etc.). Establish expense management policies in line with company practices and enforce site compliance. Oversee and manage the establishment and set‑up of appropriate electronic financial and operational systems and processes for the mine site. Implement prescribed accounting and finance practices; ensure compliance with IAMGOLD’s accounting direction, policies and processes. Actively participate in the annual audit and liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure deadlines are met and reporting is accurate and compliant with industry and company regulations. Supervise the bi‑weekly payroll preparation and approval; handle monthly remittance of employee deductions to company programs. Continually analyze and develop strategies, KPIs to track and monitor costs to optimize business performance. Ensure operational employees at site are educated and informed about financial policies, practices and philosophies. Additional Support Tasks Post journal entries for monthly activities. Verify accounts payable coding of invoices. Prepare various financial reports and related analysis. Prepare/assist for annual budgets and quarterly forecasts. Ensure adherence to site and corporate accounting standards and procedures. Liaise with internal and external audit teams. Leadership Responsibilities Build an appropriate team through recruitment; implement control systems such as Oracle finance modules, payroll systems. Lead the annual budget exercise with related reports/analysis. Develop and implement finance and accounting policies and procedures for the mine. Create and ensure implementation of appropriate internal controls and governance. Provide clear work objectives and performance expectations required to achieve business plans and production targets. Ensure training is provided; manage performance through reviews, feedback and coaching. Promote and maintain a high‑performance culture; drive safety culture within the team. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field. Professional designation (CA or CPA). Minimum 5 years experience in a similar function. ERP and financial reporting software experience. Experience in a multi‑entity, multi‑currency environment and joint venture is an asset. Results oriented with a focus on continuous improvement. Highly motivated, independently driven with a sense of urgency. Good working knowledge of MS Office, especially Excel. Ability to establish effective working relationships with other departments. Knowledge of Oracle beneficial. Well‑developed problem‑solving, organizational and analytical skills. Well organized; works independently and in a team; good time‑management; can work under pressure. Bilingual English/French an asset.
