Elk Valley Hospital has an exciting opportunity for a Casual Switchboard Cashier Admitting Clerk to join their team in Fernie, B.C. This position works rotating days, Monday to Friday, 06:45 to 14:45 or 09:00 to 17:00. Days off: Sunday, Saturday, STAT. Work hours range from 0 to 37.5 per week, with shifts available on short notice or pre‑scheduled to cover leaves. What will you work on This position performs a variety of clerical duties associated with operating the switchboard, receiving and registering patients, processing accounts receivable and other related clerical duties as assigned. Records and accounts for payments received in accordance with established policies and procedures. Application requirements A 5‑minute typing test (45+ NWPM) from a recognized institution, completed within the past 48 months (non‑supervised tests not accepted). Your resume outlining one year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. A cover letter stating your availability to start in a new position and on‑call, casual work (i.e., days of the week).
