Position # 180822 Expected Start Date: January 05, 2026 Union: SUN Facility: TBD City/Town: Saskatoon Department: Health Bus Type: Full-time regular FTE: 1 Shift Information: Days, Weekends Hours of Work: 14 shifts of 8 hours per 3 weeks Relief: No Float: No Field Hours: Yes Salary or Pay Band: Pay Band Nurse Practitioner $52.590 to $62.910 Travel Required: Yes Job Description Reporting to the Manager of Primary Health, the Nurse Practitioner will: provides clinical support related to high risk behaviours of population; provides chronic disease management and treatment of common medical problems for people who have significant barriers to accessing health care; supports referrals to other health services as needed. Work reflects understanding of determinants of health that influence health in the core neighborhoods. Works with Health Care, Community and Intersectoral partners such as Public Health and EMS department of Social Work to improve the health of citizens in Saskatoon core neighborhoods. Has an increased understanding and sensitivity to aboriginal culture and effects on health care delivery. Demonstrates capacity to engage people in health enhancing education, activities and services. Human Resources Exemption: No Experience Three (3) years full-time experience as a Registered Nurse Two (2) years advanced RN (NP) in applicable area Education Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) Licenses Valid Class 5 driver's license Other Education and Training Nursing diploma is acceptable Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Competencies Basic - Conflict resolution skills Basic - Facilitation skills Basic - Critical thinking skills Basic - Organizational skills Basic - Communication skills to provide/obtain verbal and/or written opinions/advice Basic - Teaching skills Basic - Decision making skills Basic - Leadership skills Knowledge and Abilities Knowledge of addictions interventions involving drugs, alcohol or tobacco Demonstrates leadership, confidence and autonomy in the RN(NP) role Demonstrates capacity for visioning, goal setting and utilizing change theory Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment Demonstrates empathy, trust and respect in the provision of care Therapeutic intervention skills working relevant to practice of the RN(NP) role Knowledge of health needs of urban individuals, families and communities Knowledge in assessment, treatment and education related to sexual health Ability to adapt to changing conditions Ability to take initiative Commitment to continued learning and professional development.
