You will further identify and support residents to access community resources and services.Hours of Work:VariedJob Qualifications* Required QualificationsDiploma in Community Social ServiceRecent, related experience of two years Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience or other qualifications determined to be reasonable and relevant to the level of workA valid B.C Class 5 Driver’s licenseAbility to obtain the following upon hire:Certificates in First Aid + CPRWHMISMinistry of Justice Criminal Record ClearanceTB Clearance (done within past 6 months)FoodsafeKnowledge and AbilitiesAbility to work with people with a mental illness.Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others.Ability to operate related equipment.Ability to establish and maintain rapport with clients.Ability to observe and recognize changes in clients.Ability and willingness to understand and work with adults who have been found not criminally responsible on account of a mental disorder.Knowledge of the criminal justice system.Life skills training and experience.Good organizational and leadership skills.Demonstrated ability to facilitate groups.About CoastCoast Mental Health (Coast) is one of the largest mental health non-profit societies in Canada, and operates a large array of innovative housing and community based rehabilitation services for people with a mental illness living in and around Vancouver.
