Logistics Supervisor - Nights Longo’s is a Canadian, family‑operated food retailer founded in 1956, now operating over 38 stores across the Greater Toronto Area. We are looking for a logistics leader who thrives in a fast‑paced, customer‑service‑centric environment. Job Overview: This position supports the Logistics and Operations Managers in the efficient supervision of all logistics functions, including receiving, shipping, transportation, flow, and return logistics. The Logistics Supervisor coaches and trains staff to achieve the highest levels of productivity, customer service, adherence to SOPs, and food safety standards, while maintaining the lowest possible costs. Key Responsibilities Leadership & People Management Model company values: Honesty, Trustworthiness, Mutual Respect. Motivate, develop team members and provide feedback and performance appraisals. Ensure compliance with health, safety, food safety and HR policies. Coach and train staff; lead daily huddles. Support shipping, receiving, picking, and dispatching as needed. Identify and nurture talent; step in for the Logistics Manager when required. Direct Leads and team members; maintain reports and trackers. Safety & Equipment Maintain a clean, safe warehouse and yard. Enforce health, safety and food safety standards. Ensure proper sanitization, uniform compliance, and trailer temperature checks. Oversee material handling equipment and trailer cleaning programs. Warehouse Initiatives Support the implementation of logistics initiatives and act as a change agent. Approve invoices and repairs when the manager is unavailable. Collaborate with other departments to meet productivity targets. Logistics Operations Supervise inbound/outbound shipments and ensure accurate documentation. Monitor trends and adjust workforce scheduling. Coach underperformers and maintain vendor and DC on‑time performance KPIs. Communicate with supply chain and vendors on scheduling issues. Handle store‑to‑store transfers, ensuring quality and seamless movement. Working Conditions Standard warehouse environment with occasional office meetings. Manage multiple projects with changing priorities and deadlines. Travel to various warehouse locations. Work shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays as business needs require.
