Natural Forces is seeking a candidate to fill a Corporate Finance Analyst role to support our team members. This is a full‑time position based at our head office in downtown Halifax that may require occasional travel within Canada, Ireland and France. Primary duties Design, build and maintain highly complex financial models for renewable energy projects Work with cross functional teams to develop robust sets of assumptions Be the custodian of model structural integrity and model assumptions Support the project team through the bid and financial close process Understand financing and tax structures to understand their impact on financial model and project viability Translate data into meaningful information to support decision making at board level Be resourceful, develop trust amongst stakeholders, anticipate needs of your key internal customers Ad‑hoc analysis and support for wider team as required in a growing entrepreneurial environment Key Tasks and Duties Project Financing Design, build and maintain highly complex financial models for renewable energy projects Accurate management of information flows used to maintain financial models Take responsibility for structural integrity and functionality of models including accounting, tax and regulatory requirements of various global markets Determine optimal financing structures for projects in different markets Support the acquisition/investment/tender/bidding appraisal activities of multi‑million dollar projects globally through financial modelling. Understand different technologies and different development jurisdictions. Clear financial analysis and communication of results. Seek tax advice and understand implication on projects Provide support in selecting financial structures, partners and demonstrate comfort liaising with lenders and advisors to achieve financial close Business Development Directly support the organization in realizing opportunities in respect of the following activities: PPA award Project Acquisition and Disposal Raising debt and equity Development Partnerships Tax Structures Promote and enhance the profile and reputation of the organization to businesses involved in the renewable energy market Professional Development Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies. Education and experience requirements Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics or related field Professional designation considered an asset Skills and ability requirements Ability to analyze qualitative & quantitative information for decision making Strong focus on detail Strong communication skills: ability to challenge, synthesize and clearly articulate thought process Easily motivated and can execute tasks independently & integrate easily with multi‑functional teams Excellent understanding of Financial Statements Renewable Energy or wider energy or infrastructure industry experience is desirable Proficient with MS Excel and MS Office Suite Flexibility to Travel as required Application requirements Applications must include a cover letter and resume Other information Diversity, equity, and inclusion are critical to our clean energy mission.
