We’re not just about insurance; we’re about making a real difference by protecting what matters most.The OpportunityWe are seeking a Senior Manager, Data governance and Data Quality to lead enterprise-wide data quality as a program and own related projects and initiatives. This strategic leadership role requires a proven Data governance and data quality SME and a leader who previously have a proven records of implementing and enhancing Data quality standards, policies, frameworks, processes and controls. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in data quality, data governance, control remediation, risk management, and automation through tooling, and will be instrumental in shaping our data strategy across all business units. This is a people manager role and requires 3 days in office location.What You Will DoLead the Enterprise Data Quality ProgramDefine and execute Data Quality as a formal enterprise program, ensuring alignment with business priorities and operational objectives.Develop and maintain the Data Quality policy, framework, standards, and procedures; embed these across business units and markets to drive consistency, standardization and accountability.Establish and maintain glossaries, artifacts and views, ensuring clear definitions of critical data elements (CDEs) and ownership models that support transparency and trust.Own the Data Governance & Data Quality Enhancements ProjectAct as end to end owner of the enterprise project focused on achieving the target state for Data Quality—addressing internal audit findings, regulatory expectations, and risk mitigation.Translate strategic objectives into actionable workstreams and milestones; manage governance forums and reporting to senior leadership.Drive Compliance, Risk Management & ReportingServe as the named owner for the “Inadequate Data Quality” risk, ensuring robust controls, effectiveness testing, and mitigation strategies.Ensure compliance with regulatory expectations on lineage, traceability, and quality controls; lead annual attestations, submissions, and control testing.Produce executive level reporting and dashboards on Data Quality performance, risk posture, and remediation progress for Canada and Global stakeholders.Enable Metadata Management & TraceabilityOversee enterprise metadata management, including cataloguing, classification, tagging, and lineage capture for business critical data.Maintain auditable documentation in iCare and other governance tools to support transparency and regulatory readiness.Manage Critical Data Assets & WorkflowsOwn the improvement and maintenance of the Critical Data Register and Critical Data Element views, ensuring accuracy and completeness across business units.Govern data transfers, data mapping, and process workflows to ensure integrity, traceability, and compliance with enterprise standards.Embed these artefacts into operational processes and change governance to support risk reduction and audit readiness.Collaborate Across Business Units & MarketsPartner with global teams and Canadian business units to embed governance maturity and auditable processes into day-to-day operations.Act as the go to subject matter expert for Data Governance and Data Quality, providing guidance to senior leaders and operational teams.Platform & Migration OversightProvide governance leadership for migrations from on‑prem to Snowflake, ensuring that data quality, lineage, and compliance requirements are fully addressed.Champion effective use of data governance and DQ platforms for metadata, cataloguing, and stewardship workflows.Work closely with internal stakeholders and vendors to act as a product owner of data governance elements in Snowflake Horizon and supporting data governance tooling.What You’ll Bring10+ years leading enterprise Data Quality programs across multiple business units or markets.10+ years experience defining and implementing standards, policies, frameworks, and governance artefacts.7+ years hands on experience with data governance and data quality tools (e.g., Collibra, Atlan).5+ years experience with Snowflake and governance considerations for cloud migrations.Strong background in regulatory compliance, risk management, and audit readiness.Proven ability to manage large-scale programs and influence senior stakeholders across a matrixed organization.Expertise in metadata management, Business Glossary development, and lineage capture. Excellent communication and relationship building skills to engage business leaders and operational teams. Advanced skills in compliance and data risk management—risk identification, mitigations, effectiveness testing, evidencing, and reporting to governance forums.Experience in DQ reporting and BAU submissions/collections, with disciplined follow through and audit ready documentation (including iCare/issue management artifacts).Exceptional written and verbal communication: able to translate complex governance and platform considerations into clear, outcome focused guidance for technical and business audiences.A high level of initiative and influencing skills to drive results through global collaboration and matrixed teams.What Makes You Stand OutExperience in Data quality management as a program across a Global organizationExperience in Standards, policies, processes relating to data governance and data qualityExperience in Snowflake platform and Snowflake Horizon capabilities and setupExperience as a program manage and product ownerWhat You’ll GetThe salary band for this position ranges from $135,000 to $150,000.
