OverviewSenior Litigation Associate Lawyer role at DWF – Toronto. We are seeking a motivated Litigation Associate with 4 - 6 years of experience handling civil litigation matters, preferably in the insurance defence area. Coverage experience is an asset. In this role, you will independently manage your own files while benefiting from the mentorship of experienced senior counsel on complex cases. You will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of matters, including construction, class action, general insurance and coverage, professional liability, cybersecurity, transportation, product liability and commercial litigation matters. The successful candidate will have strong practice management, advocacy and client service skills, and will be committed to professional and business development.ResponsibilitiesManaging all phases of litigated cases independently, while receiving guidance and mentorship from senior counsel.Conducting discoveries, mediations, and motions with a high degree of autonomy.Assisting senior counsel on complex and high-profile matters, contributing to strategic case management.Overseeing practice and client relations, ensuring effective communication and strong client service.Engaging in business development activities and enhancing professional profile to drive growth and visibility.Achieving both billable and non-billable targets, contributing to the firm’s performance and success.Providing leadership and mentorship within the team to support the development of junior colleagues.What will help you succeedLicensed to practice law in Canada and in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.4 - 6 years of experience in handling civil litigation matters.Exceptional proficiency in English, with strong oral and written communication skills.Strong organizational skills and ability to work effectively within a team while maintaining professionalism.Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and a busy litigation practice with effective coordination among team members.What we offerHealth & wellbeing programs and seminars; wellness and fitness benefits.Flexible health and dental coverage; long-term disability insurance.Flexible work arrangement options; "dress for your day" dress code.Diversity & InclusivityWhitelaw Twining recognizes that respect for the dignity and worth of everyone who works at the Firm is the foundation of harmonious and productive working relationships.
