Director of Information Technology

As the Director of IT, you will be a strategic and hands‑on leader responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s information technology infrastructure, systems, security, and compliance. You will define and execute the IT roadmap, ensuring our technology supports business growth, operational efficiency, and maintains a strong security and compliance posture. A key focus of this role will be the execution and successful management of the company’s SOC 2 compliance program. You will lead IT operations, manage vendor relationships, and champion security best practices across the organization. What you’ll do Develop and implement a comprehensive IT strategy and roadmap that aligns with the company’s long‑term business objectives. Lead the execution and ongoing management of the company’s SOC 2 Type 2 compliance program across the entire organization, ensuring all controls are effectively implemented, documented, and operating. Oversee the administration and security of the corporate IT environment, including endpoint management for a mixed environment of Windows and MacOS devices. Manage and secure critical identity and collaboration platforms, specifically Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD) for identity and access management, and Google Workspace for corporate communications and collaboration. Establish and enforce IT security policies, manage vulnerability remediation, and lead incident response procedures to protect organizational assets. Manage the IT operational budget, negotiate vendor contracts, and oversee the procurement lifecycle for hardware and software. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to IT staff, fostering a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with other team members to design and plan new technology initiatives based on organizational requirements. What you’ll need Professional experience in a senior IT leadership or management role (e.g., IT Manager, Sr. IT Engineer, or equivalent). Demonstrable experience leading or significantly contributing to successful SOC 2 Type 2 audits and maintaining a continuous compliance environment. Deep expertise in managing modern enterprise IT infrastructure, including proficiency in managing and securing endpoints across Windows and MacOS. Strong practical experience with cloud‑based identity and access management (IAM), specifically administering and securing Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Proven hands‑on experience in the administration and deployment of Google Workspace in a corporate setting. Familiarity with industry‑standard security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, SOC 2). Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical issues and strategy to both technical and non‑technical audiences, including executive leadership. A proven track record of strategic planning, budget management, and vendor relationship management. Success will be measured by Successful and timely achievement of annual IT strategic objectives and roadmap milestones. Maintaining a continuously compliant and auditable SOC 2 environment with zero critical findings during external audits. Uptime and reliability of critical IT infrastructure. Effectiveness and security of user endpoint management and access control using Entra and systems across Windows and MacOS. Demonstrating strong technical leadership and strategic partnership with executive teams.
