• Business group: Canadian Digital Banking Engineering – Applications – part of client’s digital Engineering – supporting digital banking applications and digital customer onboarding
• Project: Digital Sales Squad – initiative to improve the onboarding funnel for onboarding applications – releasing new features; wrapping up development from first half of year and candidate coming into second phase for new development plan for new features

Typical Day in Role:

• Be the bridge between multiple parties including: our business, control functions, technology partners and our engineering teams, responsible for delivering exciting products in the Digital Banking Unit – sitting on many meetings, getting requirements from partners and translating business requirements to technical requirements
• Reaching out to other technical engineering teams to understand how we can integrate with other applications to get what they need, working with APIs
• Help scale, enable, and drive online & mobile development excellence as our team continues to deliver innovative solutions customers
• Demonstrates an informed knowledge of business functions to resolve problems and capitalize on improvement opportunities
• Supports one or more highly complex business processes
• Working in an Agile environment – working on managing team’s work backlog
• They will be the only BSA on this project on this team but there are other BSAs they can leverage in other areas for support

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 8+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst – need strong experience with requirement gathering and documentation creation
• 5+ years of experience with microapps and Microservices architecture, APIs
• 5+ years’ Agile Scrum experience – demonstrated understanding of Agile concepts, agile estimations, and ceremonies
• 5+ hands-on experience with architectural diagrams
• 5+ years’ combined experience JIRA, Confluence, MS Project, MS office suite or equivalent tools

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Financial software development organization experience
• Experience facilitating onboarding processes
• Experience with web development (JavaScript) to understand programming concepts so they can easily translate requirements

Soft Skills Required:

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Attention to detail
• Able to simplify complex situations and navigate ambiguity
• Strong stakeholder management skills

Education:

• Post-secondary – ideally in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field
• Agile certification an asset

Best VS. Average Candidate:

• Ideal candidate is a strong senior BSA with recent strong API experience who can hit the ground running and able to speak in business and technical terms really well so they can manage communications between both, good communication skills; comfortable working in an Agile environment

Candidate Review & Selection:

• 2 rounds – MS Teams Video Interviews
• 1st – Peer panel interview – case study – 1hr – case study is sent ahead of time and sent back ahead of the interview (1 day before so team can review) and presented/ discussed in interview – 20-30 minutes discussion, rest behavioral and technical questions
• 2nd (optional/if needed)– HM/management interview – 30min
